Jaw Dropping

I almost read this book twice - it is a fascinating tail of us almost losing out on, well, life. I did my college history thesis on the Cuban Missile Crisis (in 2002) and really could have used a narrative like this. Learned many new and smaller details that really adds to the intrigue and danger.

Hard to Read, Great Plot

3 stars

This was a really good book, enough that I bought it in hardcover. It's a hard read, bouncing around a lot more than I prefer, but the story behind it is quite compelling. We whoopsie, so we give up something in return. All because of a stupid $0.30 part. Great thinking.

I Can't Believe We're Still Alive

5 stars

No really - I can't believe we survived this. This retelling, and the movie from the same name, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I read this book. The intrigue, the fact that we were communicating over public radio because things were moving so fast, the fact that we damn near invaded Cuba. Unreal!
